Greetings, friend, and welcome to Lady J’s Candles.
My name is Jameelah, and I’d like to share with you why and how I started making my own candles.
In 2009, I began making candles in my kitchen because I simply wasn’t satisfied with the products that I found in stores. Sure, they all smell good in a group. But, when you get home and light a single candle, you come to realize that you actually need to burn four or five candles to duplicate that in-store fragrance that you found so pleasing.
Also, some companies claim that their candles are “all natural” and made with lead-free wicks. However, with those products, I soon experienced allergy flare-ups with burning eyes and a scratchy throat. Perhaps, you too, have endured the same negative experience?
So, that is why I decided to avoid store-bought candles, and that is how the Lady J candles began.
My passion for candles is so strong, that I can’t imagine not having them in my life. Aside from their soothing and sensuous aromas and auras, candles are symbolic. They are used in so many important milestones in all our lives. Candles are used in parties, weddings, religious ceremonies, romance, holidays, new birth celebrations and yes, even in death. Candles bring joy, happiness, hope and peace, and encourage a stress-free environment.
